Belicta Castelbarco was born in Londrina (Brazil) and grew up in Milan (Italy). She studied in Germany at the Folkwang University in Essen visual communications design, where she graduated in illustration by Professor Otto Näscher und in typography by Professor Volker Küster. Since then, she has built a career as a freelance artist and illustrator for fashion, advertising and graphic design. Belicta creates all elements within her work by hand with paint, pens and mixed media paraphernalia, layering in photoshop if required.
She teaches since 2001 illustration and typography at different Design schools in Hamburg and from October 2012 graphic draft at the Brand Academy University in Hamburg.
She lives in Hamburg with her two children and her husband Harald Siepermann.
